Automatab — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
Automatab is a Safari extension that automatically closes browser tabs after a period of inactivity. Your privacy matters, and Automatab is built to respect it.
Data we collect
None. Automatab does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or browsing data.
How Automatab works
To decide which tabs to close, Automatab reads basic information about your open tabs — such as whether a tab is active, pinned, or playing audio, and its URL for the optional whitelist feature. All of this happens entirely on your device. This information is never sent to us or to any third party, and is not retained after it is used.
Your settings (such as your inactivity limit and whitelist) are stored locally on your Mac using the browser's extension storage. They never leave your device.
Third parties
Automatab contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party services.
Children's privacy
Automatab does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
